Through video vignettes showing him as a pedestrian, motorist and cyclist, Joe provides the public with tips and advice on how to ensure courtesy among all road users.<\/p>\n<p>With this campaign, the R\u00e9gie de police du lac de Deux-Montagnes aims to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>make motorists aware of the obligation to yield to pedestrians at duly identified locations<\/li>\n<li>educate pedestrians to cross the street at intersections or crosswalks<\/li>\n<li>educate cyclists on proper practices both on the road and at crosswalks<\/li>\n<li>Secure all pedestrian crossings within its jurisdiction;<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the number of traffic accidents that occur on our roads.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;The R\u00e9gie de police is proud to launch this first awareness campaign on a subject that is very close to its heart, namely the safety of the population we serve. I would like to salute the exceptional collaboration of the municipal elected officials and employees involved in the planning and deployment of this major campaign. This territory, bordered by the Lake of Two Mountains to the south, has numerous bicycle paths, parks, marinas and boat launches. Two stations on the Deux-Montagnes commuter train line lead to downtown Montreal.
